Hi everybody,
We are millions and millions of people across the globe and yet so many of us are suffering from loneliness. Science confirms that loneliness, as other forms of emotional pain, triggers the same parts of the brain as physical pain. Loneliness is a very, very powerful emotion and the poem that I would like to share with you today is called: “Interrogating Loneliness”.
Interrogating Loneliness
Often
loneliness comes
just like a thief
and robs me.
Or is it
that loneliness comes
just after
I have already been
robbed?
I still wonder
whether loneliness is only a thief
who takes away
a vulture
hoovering over me
only in my most deprived state.
Or whether,
maybe some day,
I will open my eyes
and see loneliness
show up
with long awaited
yet still unexpected
gifts
and helps me
back up on my feet.
Loneliness
you have been around for so long,
I would call you a loyal friend
if only I could see
a bit more
indulgence
in your eyes.
I will not stop looking.
Warm wishes
Rose
P.S. Reach out to someone who may feel lonely today. If you are the one who is lonely, go to a café or in the park and observe people and nature. It is a first step. Also remember: We all feel lonely sometimes.
