Hi Friends,
Sharing this poem about love makes me feel a bit vulnerable, but here we go…
Love always touches something deep wihtin us.
I wish you love - in all forms, shapes, and colours. A 360 degrees-kind-of-love. A love that loves you not just for your most polished side but that embraces every part of you. Let’s not settle for less.
If you like the poem, or if you think it can inspire someone, it would mean so much to me if you shared it, left a comment, or subscribed to this newsletter.
No Begging for Love
I don’t want to be begging for your love,
or to cleverly advertise myself to you,
to promote my shiniest parts,
my finest thoughts,
and lure you
with my most eloquent speech.
No, I want that kind of love that chooses me,
knowing all my flaws.
A love
where I can be comfortable
to wear my oldest pajamas,
my hair wrapped up like a ball of wool,
whilst I wear my thick glasses
which I never loved.
This doesn’t mean,
I won’t make an effort for you.
I will surely have my moments
of seeming perfections,
when I look seducingly pretty,
will be wildly enthusiastic,
and unbelievably smart.
But I don’t always
want to have to play these cards.
Sure, it’s part of the hand
I’ve been dealt,
along with all the other cards
I mentioned.
But dear!
I want to be loved
not as a player of cards
but as a person
who sits with you
at the table.
Let me turn all my cards
and show you
what I have been dealt.
I place them in front of you.
See?
See me in all my glory and misery?
And all those things in-between?
Now, if in sight of all of it,
you wish to stay seated at the table,
and can imagine that we can join hands
and bring this whole game to another level,
then my Love,
I am in.
I hope these thoughts mean something to you. If so, it would mean a lot to me if you take a moment to comment, share or like the post.
I wish you love.
Love,
Rose
Rose,
A vulnerable piece is never easy, yet you will often find that what is quite personal to you is universal to all of us, and in that, you can safely place your words and your readers will love them. I felt all of this, like reading from my own memories. Blessings ~Wendy 💜
