Hi Friends,
What if we dropped the pretense that we have it all figured out and we conceded that a touch of madness runs through us all. Wouldn’t that be a liberating truth ?
My poem is called “Lifting the Curtain of Madness”.
If you like the poem, it will mean a lot to me if you subscribe, share it, or leave a comment further below.
Lifting the Curtain of Madness
Frida Kahlo once said:
”I wish I could do whatever I liked behind the curtain of madness.”
Now I am asking:
What if?
What if
we could lift the
the curtain of madness
and make madness
our shared
state of humanity
where no one pretends
to be perfect
and to have figured it all out.
And what if
we would all
look at ourselves
and one another
as if we were crazy and mad
crazy, troubled people
stressed
anxious
with traumas
and scars
What if
we would not
draw a line
between the “crazies”
and us,
between us
and the “non-crazies”,
but we all would
humble ourselves
as troubled people.
Troubled
by the waves of life
by our human condition
by our heart condition
And what if
in all our madness
we would learn
to give up pretending
that we have it all together
instead
extend grace to ourselves
and to one another
We would be freed
of the pretense of non-craziness
We are
all trying
to navigate
in one way or the other
the streams of life.
What if craziness
is not a big deal
and we could look beyond that
or deeper
into the
tender,
soft,
warm,
spots
of our kind and
wounded hearts
through which
we can connect.
I hope these thoughts mean something to you. It means a lot to me if you take a moment to comment, share or like the post.
Sending my love from my craziest part to your craziest part
Rose
