Being pressent to witness someone's journey without imposing yourself

Hi everybody,

We all have been in difficult situations, in difficult periods of our lives, and then often what we see is that our friends and our loved ones rush towards us with fine counsel and advice. This is well intended but often it is not very helpful because by doing so they superimpose their knowledge over the knowledge that our souls already have and that we need to bring forth and carve out in order to figure out the next step on our way. That is what inspired my next poem which is called “Circle of Trust”. The notion “Circle of Trust” is borrowed from the Quaker Parker J. Palmer. I hope you enjoy it.

CIRCLE OF TRUST

I witness
your journey
I see your joys and sufferings
I see the questions you face
and I sit there with you
as you search the answers
I trust your soul’s knowledge and journey
I don’t invade you in your exploration
nor do I evade or abandon you in your quest
I sit with you
witnessing your journey
in a circle of trust.
